New SRA Accounts Rules [2019] Launch Date

March 2019

After much delay, the SRA have finally announced that the new SRA Accounts Rules will be in force from 25 November 2019.

If you have attended one of our training courses or webinars on the new SRA Accounts Rules you will know that the new SRA Accounts Rules are going to cause problems for some firms as, in some ways, they are more restrictive than the current rules if applied strictly as they are written. Frustratingly, it now appears that the accompanying guidance documents that had been promised by the SRA are no longer going to be forthcoming. Instead, the SRA have indicated that they will deal with any queries that are raised with them via a series of FAQ's on their website. Such an approach to the problem by the SRA is far from helpful as it makes it very difficult for firms to plan ahead.

If you want to find out more about the new SRA Accounts Rules [2019], our one hour webinar SRA Accounts Rules [2019]: An Introduction to the New Rules Live Webinar will provide an informative overview of the new rules and highlight some of the key changes whilst our three hour A Practical Guide to the New SRA Accounts Rules [2019] training course will be running at various locations across the UK in the coming months and provides a more in depth analysis and consideration of the new rules.

To get a feel for some of the issues with the new rules, our previous news items will give you an indication of the type of issues the new rules bring with them:
