Telegraphic Transfer Fees Practice Note

There have been a number of recent cases heard at the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal where solicitors are alleged to have made a secret profit from their clients as a result of the way in which they have charged clients for telegraphic transfer fees.
There is now clear guidance being provided to the profession by the Law Society on how to properly pass on the charges and costs relating to the provision of telegraphic transfer services in the form of a new Practice Note.
